New name, look are backed by our commitment to Catholic heritage and healthy communities
This January we are celebrating a milestone in our long heritage as a trusted provider in the communities we serve. We move into the future as CHI Saint Joseph Health.
Our new name reflects our strong link to a robust nationally recognized health system — Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI). Our new name also recognizes the community’s strong ties to the Saint Joseph name.
Each of our hospital facilities has a strong heritage in the communities they serve. Facilities will retain their local names while being a part of the CHI Saint Joseph Health system.
Our transition to CHI Saint Joseph Health will take time, but you will begin to see signs of change now. New name badges are ready for your use (leaders will distribute this month) and a new online “pop-up” store is ready for you to order new logo wear and promotional items (learn more
In the coming months we’ll install new signs and update patient materials. We will notify you well in advance of the transition to new email addresses (email@example.com, for example). All of these efforts will help us bring the new master brand to life.
While the brand is new, it also brings us back to our roots in Catholic health care. We will continue to work to find new and innovative ways to create healthier communities, especially those who are poor and vulnerable.

New logo reflects energy, diversity, mission
The new name and new logo are the most outward signs of our new brand. A strong, vibrant graphic representation of who we are as an organization is important to convey our energy, vision and mission.
As part of CHI, we have a new symbol in our logo. The image is a guiding star and cross — four shapes that come together to visually represent our passion for the common mission to create healthier communities.
The varying shapes of the symbol signify the diversity of CHI and exemplify the seamless integration of CHI Saint Joseph Health with the national health system and partner organizations across the nation.
Building on our heritage of trust
A brand is much more than just a name or a logo; it is an impression made on anyone who comes in contact with it. Our brand should be part of every encounter, reflecting our commitment to helping the communities we serve achieve optimal health.
Health care decisions are among the most important, and personal, decisions we make for ourselves and our families. A key factor in choosing a provider is trust, and Saint Joseph has a long history and heritage as a trusted provider in the communities we serve.
Our goal is that all of our actions and decisions should help us deliver on this promise to the people we serve. Trust in Saint Joseph will continue to grow when people experience consistent delivery on our promise over time through our actions on the job every day.
We’ll share more information and background about the new CHI Saint Joseph Health brand in the months ahead. Please talk about the transition with your supervisor. Ask questions. Understanding and managing the brand is a responsibility we all share.
Thank you for your support as we begin this new chapter of our history.
